A Law graduate from the University of Hertfordshire, Ben Oxford has 10 years’ experience in a diverse range of areas, bringing a variety of skills to the projected that he undertakes. "After graduating, I travelled for two years and then returned to the UK and began working in Human Resources for the NHS," says Ben. "A role in workforce analysis led naturally into looking at project support work, and I joined NEL Healthcare Consulting as a Junior Consultant in September 2015." Among the programmes Ben currently supports are the review of Personal Medical Services, and the national review of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Both these pieces of work are for NHS England.
As part of his work for the NHS, Ben became a certified PRINCE 2 practitioner. "PRINCE 2 is the leading methodology for the quality management, control and organisation of a project, enabling with consistency and ensuring alignment with the objectives," says Ben. "It's an important part of how we deliver transformational change management projects."
With a personal interest in coaching and individual and organisational development, Ben is also a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming. "NLP provides insight into how we think and behave,” he says. "Essentially, it’s based on the belief that words affect our thoughts, and our thoughts affect our actions."
One area where Ben applies mind over matter is in running the London marathon, which he completed in 2016 in support of the MIND mental health charity.
