We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Distinction in Wellbeing category of the HR Distinction Awards 2019. This award recognises an organisation that has developed outstanding strategies aimed at ensuring the health and wellbeing of its staff – including mental, physical or emotional wellbeing.
During the past year we have launched several initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of our staff. We introduced our Mental Health First Aiders training, to provide objective support and signpost staff with symptoms of mental ill-health to professional services. We have also been running several networks to promote diversity and inclusion across our organisation; thus enhancing staff’s mental and emotional wellbeing. Recently, our HR team has been through a thorough procurement process to secure our new provider, Health Management Limited, to provide occupational health services. We are a Disability Confident Employer, and last year were accredited as a healthy workplace through the Mayor of London Healthy Workplace Charter.
We recognise that our people are our most important asset and we need to look after them to ensure we are performing at our best as an organisation. Judges will be looking at several factors when choosing a winner. These include effective implementation of long-term health and wellbeing initiatives that achieve sustainable business benefits and evidence of adoption, engagement, and integration of the wellbeing initiative across the organisation. This year’s prestigious line up of judges consists of leading authorities and HR specialists from across a wide range of sectors. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 2 May 2019.
