NEL CSU and South East CSU have formed a partnership to join up the two CSUs under one organisation, under the NEL CSU name, by 1 April 2017.
This will be an organisation that continues to listen to our customers, strives for excellence in improving health outcomes and services, is sustainable, delivers on promises and, just as importantly, is a dynamic and enjoyable workplace.
Work continues at pace to bring the two organisations together, taking a phased approach and looking at bringing together those service areas where it makes sense to do so, such as those that will bring economies of scale.
We will continue the excellent effort achieved so far by both organisations and build on both organisations’ strengths.
We will keep on developing an organisation that listens to our customers, strives for excellence in improving health outcomes and services, is sustainable, delivers on promises and, just as importantly, is a dynamic and enjoyable workplace.
We want to involve our staff in our discussions to bring the two organisations together, and have put in place six workstreams which are looking at structures, working with operational teams to look at opportunities and ways of working together that won’t disrupt business as usual. This work will go on after April as we continue to develop and evolve as a new organisation.
We will keep our customers and other stakeholders informed of our progress on a regular basis.
Staff, patients, the public and customers are best served by an efficient CSU that can spread its costs across a wider number of customers whilst maintaining local focus. As a bigger organisation, we can create a stronger, more agile CSU for the future.
To create a single CSU that can provide more of a regional focus and which has the scale and expertise to provide high-quality coordinated and flexible support to our customers, will enable them to deliver meaningful improvements to their health systems.
