NEL CSU's Specialist Business Intelligence team has been recognised for its excellence in healthcare business analytics by becoming a finalist in the ehi (E-Health Insider) Awards 2015, alongside Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group.
The ‘Excellence in Healthcare Business Analytics’ category recognises the increasing dependency by healthcare managers on analytics ‘to guide decisions and make intelligent choices whether for commissioning clinical services, delivery care of safeguarding public health’.
Director of Analytics Matthew Macdonald said: “We are delighted to be a finalist in these awards. It’s fantastic recognition of the team’s efforts. Our cutting edge analytics team is delivering true value for our customers as well as benefits for patients and commissioners.”
NEL CSU worked with Tower Hamlets CCG on an Integrated Care Management Cube which enables identification of patient cohorts based on disease groups that could be tracked over time. This can be used to see whether there is a specific element of the population who may need targeted clinical intervention.
NEL also used its Data Sharing and Integration Platform NELIE to provide Tower Hamlets clinicians with an online Urgent Care Dashboard. The dashboard actively links and merges data from a range of systems and providers to deliver real clinical intelligence which is impossible to get anywhere else.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on 1 October 2015.
