NEL CSU has been selected as the preferred bidder to supply IT services to GP practices, community health providers and the local clinical commissioning groups in east and west Suffolk.
The announcement, by NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk and NHS West Suffolk clinical commissioning groups, follows a rigorous and in-depth procurement process to find a new provider.
NEL CSU director of ICT, David Thomas said: “We are delighted to be selected to provide IT services to the CCGs, GP practices and community health providers in east and west Suffolk and look forward to working with them to provide IT solutions that benefit everyone, including patients.”
Dr Imran Qureshi, chairman of the clinical executive of NHS Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG said: “NEL CSU is an NHS organisation which has an impressive track record in delivering support services to other NHS organisations. Their bid will ensure IT services represent quality and value for money.
NEL CSU also provides ICT services to neighbouring Norfolk and Essex.
The contract is expected to begin on 12 October 2015.
