I joined the NHS in 2009 from the professional services firm Ernest & Young, having held various roles from Business Change Lead at Norfolk and Waveney PCT to being a Delivery Improvement and Transformation Consultant with NEL, providing solutions that are aligned with customers’ existing plans and objectives. I was delivering, supporting and advising complex programmes with different partners and stakeholders across multiple organisations. I later moved into a Senior Business Manager role within the Business Development team before being appointed as the Deputy Director of Strategy and Business Development in June 2017.
In my current role as Deputy Director, I drive the delivery of business development programmes enabling our organisation to respond to the evolving landscape and customer needs. This involves working with the executive team and service leads to gain an understanding of the fundamental drivers of our business and the business of our customers, partners and competitors in order to shape our value proposition so that we continue to achieve sustainable growth.
Working at NEL gives me both job satisfaction and work life balance. I am able to maintain a healthy work life balance and respond to any change in circumstances by being able to work from any site with our innovative IT ways of working. Each day is different as I can work from any of our offices and be able to communicate with my team who are spread across different sites over a wide geography.
My main passion is running, having done 516 miles in just under 90 runs so far. Outside of work I also enjoy both football and rugby. My favourite teams being Manchester United and the Springboks.
