On 27 September 2017, Liz Lyon, Daniel Belostecinic and Oliver Bailey led a session at the UK Health Show, Olympia entitled ‘Making it stick – Top tips for sustainable change’.
Using a wide range of NHS case studies from our healthcare consultancy work, the team began by asking the audience to vote on how they felt about change, both personally and in terms of the health system.
They explained how, in their view, the development of (Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and Accountable Care Systems (ACSs) could be the most dramatic and important change the NHS has seen since it was created in 1948.
Liz Lyon, Assistant Director, NEL Healthcare Consulting said: “These changes call for system-wide collaboration and for the NHS to be truly patient-centred. This means much more agile and fluid commissioning, with transactional services becoming transformational.
“These are exciting times, not least because no-one knows exactly how to achieve this.”
Throughout the session, the presenters gave examples of successful projects completed by our consulting team, with Liz explaining: “We are in the NHS, supporting change within and across the NHS.”
